I would say that the art scene in Lakeland, Florida is definitely on the up and up if the artists and participants of this year‘s Art Crawl in downtown Lakeland are any indication of the state of affairs.
Local artists from all walks of life and art styles came together to share and sell their work with Lakelanders and more.
I had the chance to “hold down the fort” for Hum.ngBird when the artist took “a break” during the event. His surreal, acrylic on canvas paintings included all subject matters from people, to birds, to abstract shapes and symbols. They were pretty cool.
Towards the end of the event there was a lovely cool breeze floating across the streets making it very pleasant to walk around, enjoy the art, grab some food from a variety of food trucks, and grab a cold one from Swan Brewing for those so inclined.
